ONE hour to go till the end of the first decade in the twenty-first century. They say that everything changes, what doesn’t change is the way we track time. A minute is always going to be 60 seconds… an hour is always going to be 60 minutes… but is it just me when I say… the last year seemed to have zoomed by!
Wasn’t it just last NYE that we went to sushi?
2010 brought with it some of the most amazing moments of my life and some of the most important moments of in the lives of my nearest and dearest. I am so glad I was a witness to such an amazing year.
This year I had the fortune of seeing my Lifelines more then I have had the chance to in the past. We laughed, we planned missions, went to lunches, dinners, movies and realized that no matter how busy we can get.. there is always time for a little break with the ladies.
I got to experience his graduation, the proudest moment of his academic career. Spent quality time with my future in laws. I got to see him in a complete family setting. It’s a feeling that I have never felt before. I got to understand his family dynamic and carve my little niche into their lives.
We made a HUGE commitment. We got engaged in June. When he put that ring on my finger I realized that I was all grown up… I was going to take the first step toward a big-girl life. In front of our closest family and friends we made it official and for the rest of the year, basked in the glow of knowing that we were firmly committed to each other and that its too late for him to back out because he’s reserved π
This year brought with it a reunion with two of my childhood friends that I was sure i would never see again… They are the sweetest girls ever… B you and I go back a long time and I am so glad that we met up again we are essentially the same crazy little girls we once were. We have the same taste, the same likes… we happen to love the same kinds of things and most importantly, the men in our lives… love chilling with each other π what more could we have asked for in reuniting! I think this is the “restart” of a beautiful friendship!
The rest of the year sort of shot by fasted then the speed of light! I dove head first in planning the dream wedding that I have had since I was a little princess wearing mini sharees and prancing around the room…
I took a break to celebrate with my cousin when she got engaged to the best brother in law I’m sure I will ever have π I also took a break to share in the happiness of my best friend’s wedding… π I also celebrated the last birthday I will ever celebrate as a single lady π
All in all, this year has been such a fantastic roller coaster ride. I am so glad this year happened.. 2011 has a lot to live up to. But I suspect that 2011 will be the most unique year to hit my life.
My life will be changed forever in 2011.
Not only will I maintain my titles as daughter and sister… I will be given three more titles… daughter in law, bhabi, and wifey…
I am so hopeful for this coming year.
my resolution: I plan on making this year the most amazing 365 days of my life. I want to make sure that all my dreams this year come true. I want to be the happiest I have ever been in my life..
I wish for each and every one of you that as this new year dawns to make the effort to leave the past in the past and dive into life with a smile on your face and a clear slate so that you can have the time of your life as we welcome the first year of the second decade of the twenty-first century.
