A couple of months ago, I shared a lovely Holud I was able to coordinate. Today, I am back with some more eye candy from the reception!
We worked alongside the groom’s sister to create a classy yet fun reception.
We incorporated little details like day-of stationary to help guide the guests with the flow of the evening. When you have scheduled events on stationary, the importance of being on time is paramount. This is where we came in to help with guest management so that the happenings closely mirrored what was written in the program.
I think one way to describe this wedding would be that it was guest-centric. And if you knew this family, you would agree that they are some of the most gracious individuals who love to host. So when it came to their guests, they had a photo wall setup so that guests could take pictures at the party, We had Sahil Khan who serenaded the guests with his beautiful flute on two occasions – during cocktail hour and during his duet performance with Abrar’s mom, and we had a whole host of dance performances!
I loved working alongside these wonderful people because they expressed their expectations and let me work to fulfill them. They trusted my judgement and in fact, came to me for reassurance when they were about to make a call. Uncle and Aunti (Abrar’s parents) treat me like a daughter and I can see the way they relied on me on the day of the reception to ensure that everything was running smoothly. In fact, I caught both parents, sitting and enjoying their son’s reception on multiple occasions. you know how rare that can be in a south Asian wedding. Parents are never really seen sitting and having a conversation.. they are usually too stressed to eat. I was happy to see them in a relaxed state!
Let’s take a moment to talk about the vendors I got to work with! The hall was amazing. They were attentive and always worked with me to produce the evening without any hiccups. We were completely on schedule and they played a big roll in achieving this. I also want to mention Sahil Khan for stepping in to help create a sophisticated dining experience by lending a hand to our DJ with his playlist of instrumentals that was bar none! The images were captured beautifully by Farhad and Raj and from what you see below, you would also agree. The floral wall added a bit of fun and whimsy to the guests’ experience because who doesn’t want to take a picture with a wall of flowers? Profile pictures were popping up all over social media featuring this wall in the coming hours!
At the end of the day, it was a beautiful event and the bride and groom were able to enjoy a stress free day because everything was coordinated with the sister of the groom and we assisted in that to help her give her brother and her new sister in law the gift of planning!
